I was raised in Melbourne Australia, but have made California my home for the past twelve years. I have a bachelors degree in Business along with several years of experience in business management.
I was first introduced to yoga by a friend in 2012, since then I yearned for something deeper out of practice. In 2016 I decided to open my own unique yoga studio to provide an excellent place to practice for our community.
DeNae is a locally celebrated Yoga instructor and student throughout the Bay Area, Impassioned by her love of God and people, she has dedicated over 20 years to motivating, supporting, studying, and encouraging clients in their journey to create and achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Her personal desire to heal and nurture led her to the rewarding career of massage therapy in 1997. During this time she was introduced to Yoga to balance her overworked body and mind.
Studying with the masters in Classical Ashtanga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Kundalini, Restorative, STOTT Pilates, & Total Barre, she customizes from all modalities to achieve the varied needs and theme of classes. With her Guru’s motto “teach to learn” close to her heart, her studies continue with all ages, abilities, challenges, and ailments. DeNae has had great success with one on one clients establishing a foundation for their daily practice.
She is co-founder of Yogasound, a non profit bringing yoga and music development to youth at risk in her community.
I love teaching and sharing yoga with everyone! I am a mother, wife, and teacher. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, but my heritage is 100% Guatemalan. Both of my parents and grandparents were born and raised in Guatemala. My parents immigrated to the United States in their mid 20’s looking for new opportunities. They taught me to be grateful for everything I have, to work hard in life, set goals, and always give back to others.
I took my first yoga class in 2012 and fell in love with the practice. I began the journey to blend my passion for yoga and teaching in 2016.
My name is Karinne and I’m a Bay Area native. I found yoga in college as a great practice during my off days while training for my first marathon. I began teaching four years ago after one of my yoga teachers convinced me to sign up for teacher training. I love helping my students grow their own personal practice while at the same time getting a great workout.
I became Certified for Group Exercise and Personal Training while training units of the U.S. Marine Corps in the year 2000, where I conducted morning Physical Training (PT) to units of ten people to complete Divisions of three thousand people.
In 2003 I joined the U.S. Army and became involved in creating fitness programs, instructing PT, calling cadence during runs, and helped develop and instruct prenatal and postpartum pregnancy programs. I have experience in the Fitness Industry teaching in many locations across the United States where I have specialized in Kickboxing, Abdominal Sculpting, Boot Camp, Circuit Training, Cycle, and most recently Buti Yoga, and its affiliate classes.
Buti Yoga is my favorite format because of the core strength involved, dynamic asana movements, tribal dance, and the empowering tribe it builds among the participants of the class.
I learned about yoga as a child and it has remained a constant throughout my life. In 2014 I suffered a concussion and for months side effects lingered. I dedicated myself to yoga and meditation and over the course of a year I healed my brain. While I have maintained a personal practice for a lot of my life, I have been teaching yoga for just two years. I began teaching children's classes and that is my special love in the yoga world. I have been teaching adult classes for a year. I am very much enjoying sharing the practice and learning as much as I can.
I am twenty years old and currently a cosmetology student at Paul Mitchell The School: East Bay. Working at Bliss has allowed me to engage further into my own yoga journey. I am so thankful to work in a place full of amazing vibes, and begin my own yoga journey. Each class provides a new challenge.
I discovered the power of yoga and it’s benefits over 10 years ago and experienced near immediate relief from chronic neck and back pain. To deepen my practice, I obtained my RYT200 certificate from the Brentwood Yoga Center’s Advanced Studies Program in 2008, and recently completed an 800-hour Yoga Therapy training program through the Niroga Institute and is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT). I am very passionate about sharing the healing benefits of yoga with all of my students and especially those dealing with chronic pain, injuries, or other chronic conditions.
Through yoga and my continued practice, I believe that I have created a balance in all aspects of my life and believe that yoga can do this for everyone, if they open up and let it in, one pose and one breath at a time.
I’ve been working as a group fitness instructor since 1996, and I began training to teach yoga in 2000. I have grown in my yoga practice and my teaching over the years by participating in workshops and teaching: chakra alignment and health, Vedic meditation, Tai Chi, Qigong (chi gong), Dosha wellness, guided and visual meditation, and all forms and styles of yoga from Restorative / Chi to Vinyasa. My teaching style allows members to find their own strengths and work through their personal challenges with support and grace. The yogi environment I try to create is one of positive body and mind energy and focused kindness and gratitude towards ourselves and those around us.
